COVID-19 Voucher Program

SARAH and the San Antonio Housing Authority are collaborating to provide 100 housing vouchers to those affected by COVID-19. The deadline to submit an application is May 22, 2020.

How to Apply

1. Download the COVID-19 Referral Packet and Complete with Client

2. Upload the Referral Packet to this Google Form

3. After Pre-Approval by SARAH, Attend Eligibility Appointment at SAHA to Ensure Successful Transition to Voucher

Move-On Preference Program

The Move-On Preference Program is a permanent housing solution program for agencies to assist and seamlessly transition participants currently housed through Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) into subsidized housing with SAHA.

 

SARAH will only accept vouchers from housing providers. If you are experiencing homelessness, please click here for resources and information on how to enroll in SAHomelink

Who is Eligible?

  • Individuals and families currently in PSH; and
  • Have been housed stably for 12+ months; and
  • Have no outstanding debt to SAHA and meet criminal background requirements; and
  • Income below 30% Area Median Income (AMI); and
  • Referring agency can provide 90 days of After Care to ensure successful transition

How to Apply

  1. Download the Move-on Referral Packet and complete with client
  2. Submit completed packet to this the Move-On Referral Packet Google Form
  3. After SARAH’s Chronic Homeless Workgroup pre-approves the application, the case manager will receive the Move-On Application, which they will bring to the SAHA Eligibility Appointment
  4. Attend Eligibility Appointment with application and assist with landlord identification

Family Referral Program

The Family Referral Program is a permanent housing solution program designed for agencies to assist families experiencing homelessness and transition them seamlessly into subsidized housing with SAHA.

Requirements of Referring Agencies

Requirements of Referring Agencies for NEED TYPE 1:

  • Must provide the family with transition assistance, including deposit, first month’s rent, and furniture assistance
  • Must conduct one site visit with the family in housing to discuss community resources that might be beneficial to the family
  • Conduct follow-up after transitioning for a minimum of 90 days

Requirements of Referring Agencies for NEED TYPE 2:

  • Assist family with complete and accurate application
  • Conduct self-sufficiency assessment
Family Referral Program is currently ON HOLD. You may still submit a Referral Packet.

Who is Eligible?

  • Individuals or families experiencing homelessness
  • Have no outstanding debt to SAHA and meet criminal background requirements
  • Income below 30% of Area Median Income (AMI)

Who Is Prioritized?

  • Families with longer lengths of homelessness
  • Survivors of Domestic Violence
  • Families with an open Child Protective Services (CPS) case
